Events + Venues

Where to go...

There are a billion venues in London & in the UK where incredible live music is being played every evening...
This is just a small selection of places I've been to recently & a tweet style insight on what to expect.

The Bedford @ 77 Bedford Hill, Balham SW12 9HD
Worth checking their calendar regularly, always a good selection of artists 4 nights a week! And they also stream it live. Free entry.

The Troubadour @ 263-267 Old Brompton Road, Earls Court, SW5 9JA
Don't let their old school website fool you, this venue is traditionally known for presenting amazing talent in their underground club.

Tooting Tram & Social @ 46-48 Mitcham Rd, Tooting, SW17 9NA
Live music 3 nights a week & every Tuesday they host an open mic evening organised by Matt Belmont of SETs Music. Free entry.

Spiritual Records @ 4 Ferdinand Street, Camden Town, NW1 8ER
Imagine a small venue, now divide it by 10. This is such a cozy corner of Camden but you could not ask for a better atmosphere or more friendly team. Most eves are free entry.

The Slaughtered Lamb @ 34-35 Great Sutton Street, Clerkenwell, EC1V 0DX
Charming pub like venue with a downstairs room for live music. Check the website for listings and info on tickets & bookings.

Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen @ 2-4 Hoxton Square, London, N1 6NU
If you want to know what's trendy or what's different, then this is your venue. Bigger than Bedford, smaller than Barfly. Tickets often sell out quick.

Barfly @ 49 Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8AN
This is probably the first venue in London I've been to, fun fact. And it was by chance. Today I'd advise to check the listings and book way, way in advance.

The Lexington @ 96-98 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9JB
I guess just Spiritual is smaller than this one. Proper old school like pub with an upstairs room, you're almost at the same height as stage and will stand an arms' distance to acts.

Hope & Anchor @ 207 Upper Street, Islington, N1 1RL
This is such a classic venue! And what a lovely bar team, even on a Monday night! Ramones, The Police, The Cure, The Clash, Dire Straits, Joy Division, Keane and you name it played there...

The Half Moon @ 93 Lower Richmond Road, SW15 1EU
I am obviously biased as this is just around the corner, bot another venue with history. Rolling Stones played there, just saying. If you can get past the tribute nights, you'll see their listings include some brilliant songwriters.

I will come back to this place, its huge and open, and have really tall ceilings. Wait staff was also pretty good. Bartender was awesome and personable. I was really pleased with my party at NYC venues. Ha! I highly recommend these guys.

I am an expert event planner and I know that people usually have hard time in finding appropriate venues for their events be a business event or a personal occasion. I would suggest everyone having a look at the rental event space NYC at eventup.com. They provide venues at discounted rates.
